Tayloremade 300 Series Irons – Focus on the Core Golfer

Taylormade 300 Series Irons are three player-specific club offerings, each optimizing individual golfer’s different swings, with unique Vibration Damping, Classic Style to Give Players Maximum Feel and playability.

A simple philosophy, but one that changed the face of golf with one of the industry’s most successful product introductions ever: TaylorMade Golf’s 300 Series driver in October 2000.

Just months later, this Elite Golfing brand continued its industry-unique “one-size-fits-none” approach, launching its new forged and cast Taylormade T300 irons at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla.

“With irons, the core golfer cares about three things: a classic look, ball control and a soft feel,” said John Hoeflich, director of product marketing, irons. “When you can offer three distinctive clubs that give you all of these, you provide shot-making confidence to players of every swing type.”

Hoeflich, who created the Tommy Armour 845s and the original Titleist DCIs, also noted it takes substantial technology to back up these general performance characteristics.

“In each model you’ll see high-quality materials and processing combined with vibration-damping inserts that are proprietary to TaylorMade,” he continued. “Both of these in turn help optimise each club’s weighting, giving a consistent centre of gravity throughout the 300, 320 and 360: lower and more back respectively, to improve trajectory needs.”

With varying degrees of offset in each model, the 300 Series irons will range in price (see below) and ship to consumers in March.

The 300 forged irons were built for precise control and a classic feel and designed to be the best perimeter-weighted forged blade ever made.

The heads on the Taylormade T300 irons are made from the highest quality carbon steel and are double-strike forged with a precision “coining” process to produce a refined grain structure for a soft, responsive feel.

A mirror-chrome finish adds to the cosmetic appeal to give it an even more classic look and feel.

The 300’s thin topline enhances this classic style, while the straight leading edge provides for easy alignment. Perimeter weighting and a slightly oversized blade add forgiveness usually not found in forged irons.

TaylorMade’s engineers optimised the location of the centre of gravity for controlled ball flight and maximum consistency from iron to iron. An “impact pad” is placed in the cavity behind the impact zone to maintain ball velocity and produce a more solid feel. TaylorMade “U” grooves optimise spin and minimise ball shear.

The long irons have negative bounce, which helps create lift, while the short irons employ positive bounce to reduce drag and prevent “ballooned” shots. The soles are radiused (cambered) front to back to minimize digging. Additionally, the set features minimal offset to promote shot shaping and trajectory control.

The 300 forged irons feature Precision Flighted RifleÒ shafts in three flexes: 5.0 Regular, 6.0 Stiff and 6.5 Extra Stiff. (5.5 and 7.0 Custom) with Tour Velvetä grips from Golf PrideÒ . The clubs are available in Men’s #1, #2 & #3 – PW, right hand only.

Taylormade 320 Irons

Taylormade 320 cast irons are traditional cavity backed clubs that feature TaylorMade’s exclusive Feel Cartridge™ technology.

Topped by a bronze sole cap to provide the look of a visible insert, the Feel Cartridge includes 11 components working together to reduce vibrational energy and provide the feel of a forged blade in a cast club.

The Feel Cartridge provides improved weight distribution and dampens shock and vibration at impact to produce more consistent feel across the face.

The 320’s traditional shape and moderate offset create a classic look and confidence in the address position. The straight leading edge provides for easy alignment. Perimeter weighting and a slightly oversized head add forgiveness and accuracy.

As in the 300 forged irons, TaylorMade engineers have optimized the location of the centre of gravity for maximum consistency from iron to iron. TaylorMade’s “impact pad” in the cavity is placed behind the impact zone to maintain ball velocity and produce a more solid feel.

The heads are cast from the highest quality stainless steel providing a soft, responsive feel and ease of adjustment for customisation.

The 320 irons are designed to be the most playable irons that TaylorMade has built. They include performance features not found in most competitive clubs. The long irons have negative bounce, which helps create lift.

Positive bounce is found in the short irons to reduce drag and prevent “ballooned” shots. Soles are cambered front-to-back to minimise digging and radiused heel-to-toe with extra heel relief to improve shot making ability from a variety of lies.

The 320 irons feature moderate offset and topline to promote alignment, confidence at address and shot shaping ability.

Precision Flighted Constant Weight Rifle steel shafts are available in three flexes; R- 80, S-90 and TS-100 as well as TaylorMade Lite Flighted Constant Weight graphite shafts in four flexes; M-70, R-80, S-90 and TS-100. The TaylorMade Crosslineä grip provides feel and traction in a premium grip.

The 320 irons are available in Men’s #2, #3 – SW, in right and left hand.

Taylormade 360 Irons

The 360 cast irons share the same design pedigree as the 320s, however the 360 has extra features designed to make them even more playable to a wider range of players.

The 360 irons feature additional progressive offset and share the same Feel Cartridge technology as the 320 irons, but have a thicker topline to create confidence in the address position.

Perimeter weighting and a slightly oversized blade add forgiveness and accuracy. The 360 irons feature extra offset to promote a higher trajectory and right-to-left ball flight.
